"When I die - say a couple of prayers, lay me on a pile of sticks, and light a match...Pyre, fire - call it whatever you want. Just burn me in the back yard and stick me in a mason jar."

Jack, The King of East Jabip

THE KING OF EAST JABIP will make its world premiere this fall at the The Eagle Theatre, South Jersey's only year-round professional Equity theatre.

Every house tells a story. Every room, a chapter. Cracks in the plaster, peeling wallpaper, a foundation that’s settled, uneven. Meet Jack and Nora Doyle, an Irish American couple in their twilight trying to discover together how to deal with life’s twists and turns. Set in Philadelphia, local playwright Kelly McCarthy’s THE KING OF EAST JABIP touches on the trials and tribulations of growing in age, losing state of mind and dealing with loss. Witty, humorous and heartwarming, this new play will leave you grateful for all of life’s immeasurable beauty.
